Winter A-League organiser Aaron Pinkus!
The 2006 Winter A-League was Hobart's second official A-League, following on from the successful 2006 Autumn A-League, with the same three teams competing, based on geographic regions: South; Central and North. Games between two of these teams in the Winter A-League were held once a week on Sunday afternoons at the Uni Oval, with one team having a bye each round. This league officially started on Sunday June 4 with games from 4:00-5:30pm, with the grand final on Sunday September 3.
Intermediate and advanced level players were welcome to come along and play - we welcome new players. However, this league is intended to be as competitive as possible. If you prefer a slightly less competitive environment, then the Hobart Social B-League may provide a better environment for you to play.

The rules for the Hobart Outdoor Ultimate Leagues are based on the 2001 WFDF rules. The League organiser takes the position of the TD under these rules. There are a few exceptions to these rules. Check the latest local rules here.

Hello,
All players, supporters, hecklers, and peoples of indifference to A-League.
The Grand Final was played between the Hobart Hurricane and the Northern Bogans. For those people that turned up and watched they saw a great game of frisbee where neither team was able to pull ahead more than 2 points at any stage. The Hurricane came from 8-7 down to take half 9-8. After the break the Bogans took control with some good play eventually coming out winners 13-11 to win their first A-League Title.
Guts in the final went to Stewart Wells for a fantastic attempted layout catch which Aaron (me) put far too wide of his teammate in the endzone.
Style was won by Coit Stevenson for nothing in particular other than various pieces of frisbee skill which must have just looked "pretty".
The most improved over the whole league was won by Philippe St-Pierre.
Congratulations also to the Hobart Hurricane who won the Spirit Award.
I look forward to seeing all those who played in this A-League back for the next one as well as all those who didn't play in this A-League...
