2005 Hobart Spring Ultimate League

Overview

The 2005 Spring League ran as a 7 team outdoor league on Monday evenings returned to our traditional outdoor fields at Sandown Park, Lower Sandy Bay. This league officially started on Monday October 17 and ran from 5:30-8:00pm, every Monday night until the finals on Monday December 12. Beginners and new players were most welcome.

One free Come and Try session was run from 5:30-8:00pm on Monday October 10, 2005. This was a great way for new players to learn about the Summer League, or to try the game before signing up for the league!

The league co-ordinator for the Spring League was Tim Phillips.

Fees

Pre-registration (paid by October 17) league fees for the TUA Spring league were: $25 standard; $20 for students and those under 21; with a $15 special price for brand new ultimate players and $10 for brand new ultimate players who also played Two-Hat VII. Late league fees (paid after the start of the league) had an additional $5 cost on these charges. All prices included AFDA membership for the duration of the league.

Rules

The rules for the Hobart Outdoor Ultimate Leagues are based on the 2001 WFDF rules. The League takes the position of the TD under those rules. There are a few exceptions to these rules. Check the 2005 local rules here.

Schedule

Minor round schedule: initially two 40 minute games per night, with game 1 from 6:00-6:40pm and game 2 from 6:50-7:30pm. Aim to arrive at 5:45 at the latest to give time to get your cleats on and to warm up properly. As the sun sets later in the day, game length will increase to 50 minutes with games starting at 6:00 and 7:00pm. This league has 7 teams, so each week, 5 teams will play two rounds, and the other two teams will have one game and one bye, playing either the early or the late game, but not both.
