2003 Results

Round 1

The first round of the 2003 TUC was held on June 15, 2003 with All Bounced Out beating Planet Red by a score which was agreed at the time to be 17-15. After trading points to 5-5, All Bounced Out put together a string of 4 points to take the half 9-5. Some confusion reigned over the score part way through the second half. Regardless, it seems that All Bounced Out stretched their half time lead slightly, following which Planet Red came back hard to narrow the gap. The game was arbitrarily extended to a game to 19 some time after the score confusion, but the time cap eventually kicked in before Team 1 could finish their comeback. The first round saw two teams of 6 players.

Round 2

The second round of the 2003 TUC was held on July 13, 2003 with All Bounced Out, beating Planet Red by 12-10 after time cap. All Bounced Out took the half 9-7 and stretched this lead to 11-7, before a late surge from Planet Red took the score to 11-10, some time around time cap. Nobody was quite sure when the time cap was reached so an additional point was played. All Bounced Out had a team of 6 players - Planet Red's 5th player arrived just in time to avoid a forfeit. Standout player of the day was Jeff Dunn.

Round 3

The third round of the 2003 TUC was held on August 10, 2003. Despite vicious rumours to the contrary, Planet Red were organised and were the first team with 7 players. After starting a 5 a side game (Planet Red had two subs), when the stragglers showed up, this game was eventually played 7 a side, with 4 men and 3 women per team. All Bounced Out started strongly taking a 5-0 lead, with plenty of turn overs from both teams. Planet Red warmed up eventually, essentially trading points once they started scoring, with the final score of 9-4 to All Bounced Out.

Round 4

The fourth round of the 2003 TUC was held on September 8, 2003. Again Planet Red's organisation was impressive with 7 players on the line. Unfortunately All Bounced out could only muster 4 players (with a pickup) so had to forfeit. After handing over a couple of players, a game of 6 on 6 was played anyway, and Planet Red had a pretty convincing victory.

Round 5

The fifth round of the 2003 TUC was held on October 5, 2003. Again Planet Red's organisation was impressive with 7 players on the line and an 8th player on another start line at the usual venue, unaware of the change in fields. All Bounced out managed 6 players so avoided a forfeit. After a close start (the score was 1-1 at one stage), the game developed into a bit of a blowout, with All Bounced Out running out victors 15-4 or 16-4; the end of the game wasn't very well defined!

Round 6

The sixth round of the 2003 TUC was held on November 30, 2003. With a couple of new recruits playing, All Bounced out managed 6 players against Planet Red's 7 players. After a close start, All Bounced Out took this game 12-6.

Final result

After 8 games the score was 5-1 to All Bounced Out, which gave a clear series victory and the 2003 Tasmanian Ultimate Championships to All Bounced Out.
