2001 Hobart Spring Ultimate League

Overview

The 2001 Hobart Spring Ultimate League was Hobart's first real league and it ran on Monday evenings, 6-8pm, at Sandown Park Hockey Fields. This first league was a 4 team league, running from October 2001 - December 2001. The league co-ordinator was Mamoru Matsuki.

For more details and the full sales pitch, see the funky flyer.

Fees

League fees for the TUA Spring league were: $15 for AFDA members and $25 for all others. The $25 fee for non-AFDA members includes a $10 AFDA fee - a specially discounted AFDA fee which currently applies in Tasmania, giving AFDA membership until April 2002.

It is compulsory for all players in TUA leagues to be AFDA members. AFDA membership benefits include full public liability insurance coverage while participating in or organising any flying disc activity, some personal injury insurance (see AFDA insurance page for full details) while participating in or attending any flying disc activity in Australia, and discounts obtained from organisations/companies by the AFDA for members (such as Rebel Sport and travel discounts). Further information is available from www.afda.com.

Results

An approximation of the end of season league table follows. The points for and against look a little dodgy and it isn't exactly clear if the final ranking was determined by points or by the number of forfeits.
