Minutes of the TUA Committee Meeting 11th May 2006, Shipwright’s Arms Hotel, Battery Point Meeting open: 5:20pm Present: Jem, Shavawn, Mike, Aaron, Ash (until 5.40), Tim P (5.25), Tim J (5.27), Matt (5.46), Dave (6.20) Apologies: Jeff, Joe Confirmation of last minutes: Tim J, seconded Matt Correspondence: none Business arising from the minutes: 1. A-League - Games to be of 90 mins duration, starting at 4pm. Winter A-League to run weekly from June-September. Cost: $30 ($50 late fee) due by 29/5. 2. Rules review Jem has conducted a review of the TUA league rules so that there is more consistency between A and B Leagues. 3. Support for Ash Button’s World Junior Championship expenses Application for funding was received from Ash Button for financial support for him to attend the World Junior Ultimate Championships in the USA. Discussion was held and a vote was taken on the level of financial support to be provided. In the end it was decided the TUA would support Ash up to $800. 4. Two-Hat VIII Tim P to investigate holding the Two-Hat party at the Nth Hobart bowls club again. 5. Summer League Matt submitted a report for the recently completed summer league. The financial report is also near completion. Positive comments made about the change of venue to the Uni oval for the finals. 6. League organisers manual Matt may update with notes from summer league. 7. Autumn League Autumn League has just got underway thanks to Dave with 4 teams on the Uni oval. 8. Winter/Spring League Matt indicated he may be willing to organise Spring League if there is no-one else willing to organise. 9. Workers vs. Uni Challenge Possibility of the next game taking place prior to SUGs in early July. 10. Women’s Development Ash reports a number of beginner women who are students at the uni are interested in playing SUGs. 11. Nationals 2006 report Mike has submitted a report to the TUA on the results of the Tassie Tiggers campaign at Nationals in April. The report can be viewed on the TUA website. In summary the Tiggers finished 15th after originally being seeded 18th. 12. WUCC 2006 Discussion on the merits of providing financial support for Tasmanian players attending Clubs in November. The TUA tentatively agreed not to provide financial support. 13.
