HCC informing of carols-by-candlelight at Sandown in December Business from last minutes: 1. Jeff - reports small profit made on Autumn League, and player numbers dropping off in current winter league 1. Spring/Summer League - Discussion on starting dates: Spring League to start on 18 Oct, and finish on 13 Dec; summer league to start on 10 Jan - 2 come-and-try nights to be held on the Mondays immediately preceding league, starting on 4 Oct - Jem shows chart of league player numbers since beginning of leagues in Hobart - Discussion on publicity for league (at uni - Daily Bull + posters & challenge game) 2. TUC - Postponed again until 22 Aug due to weather - Call for changing venue to uni rugby field 3. Tassie Discs - Design agreed upon, sub-committee to make final decision on colours + number (Jem, Shavawn & Joe) at sub-committee meting next week - Aim to have discs in time for Two-Hat/Mixed Nationals (October) 4. Tassie 2 Hat - Jem: Registration has opened & field booking confirmed for 9 Oct - Design/shirts almost finalised - Party venue booked (Tim to run) - Stan to do lunches again - Player numbers to be capped at 48 - Player fees almost unchanged from last year: $40 (inclusive of $2.50 AFDA fees); late fee as high as $60 - Disc golf: possibility of playing 18 holes, including Princes Park 5. OSR grant application - Shavawn: submitted, will find out result in October 6. Women's Development - Shavawn: nothing to report 7. Tas Uni Report - Sports council meetings: apparently we have missed the last 2! However we have not been informed of the meetings by the sports council - Discussed sending out email when pick-up looks unlikely to happen (due to weather); people at uni to make the call? 8. Uni games (AUG) - Mike: no-one interested in going 9. CSIRO vs. Uni - Aim to play next game in late September, possibly 1 Oct 10. Coaching report - Mike: coaching courses in Syd & Mel in November, haven't decided which one to attend yet 11. Mixed Nationals - Discussion on team numbers and make-up, transport & accommodation - Plan to fly into Sydney and hire a van to drive to Newcastle 12. AFDA report - Shavawn: nothing to report 13. Finance Report Expenditure - $180 & $300: court hire to Hobart College (moved Shavawn, seconded Jem) Income - $65.20: Autumn League - Finance report approval: moved Shavawn, seconded Jem 14.
