Minutes of the TUA Meeting, 11 March 2004 Shipwright Arms Public House, Battery Point Present: Jeff, Shavawn, Asher, Mike, Jemery Apologies: Dave Last Minutes: accepted Correspondence: 1. Invoice from AFDA (brochures) 2. HCC ground bookings 1. Auditing fee Jem recommends setting maximum fee of $250 for payment for auditing purposes. 2. Summer League Asher – no major problems. End-of-season BBQ to be held after finals on 22nd. Jem – concern about lack of women numbers? Too late to change things now, but will be looked into before start of next outdoor league. 3. Autumn (Indoor) League Jeff – courts at Mt. Nelson booked from 6:30-8pm, for 8 weeks beginning 3rd May. Cost: $35-40 for season? Will depend on number of people. Advertising: Word of mouth, brochures, announcement at summer league. Jeff to look into purchase of stamp for putting TUA details onto brochures 4. Tassie discs Jem – Image still being finalised, final decision to be made through group-email in the next few weeks. - discraft unable to produce 3-colour image, 1-colour image easier (and cheaper) - purchase 144 discs (2 boxes) - UTas club to possibly pay for discs 5. Womens Development Nothing new to report, hopefully some of the O-week sign-ups will start coming to pick-up. 6. Uni Report - Shavawn to sort out field hire issues with clubs council - Mike: had 30 sign-ups at O-week stall, including 21 beginners and 11 first-year students. - Discussed the setting-up of a group-email list for new signups to be used for announcements concerning frisbee club. 7. CSIRO-Uni Challenge - next game likely to happen after next meeting 8. Tassie Tiggers - Tiggers vs “punching bags” game next Wednesday night (17th) - TUC to resume after Nationals (Tiggers games to replace for now). 9. Coaching - Jem: meeting to be held at Nationals concerning national coaching accreditation scheme. Shavawn and Mike to attend meeting. - Anyone keen to do coaching course in the second half of the year? 10. AFDA business - annual membership fees now to be replaced by event based fees (ie: pay-as-you-play). - concern over “grace periods” for those only playing for a couple of games over the course of a league (ie: pickups). Jem to ask Pottsy (AFDA president) to clarify. 11. Feb 2004 financial report - Approved (moved Shavawn, seconded Jem) 12. Exposure 2004 - no-one able to do it (deadline has past for entry) 13. Adult Education Course - Jem to chase up Craig and report back 14. AFDA brochures - Uni club to pay invoice ($75) 15. AGM To be held after summer league finals, 22nd March. Other Business 1. Jem and Jeff have sold some discs – money to be passed onto Shavawn 2. Jem – no annual return to be paid this year. Next Meeting Thursday May 13th 2004, 5pm, Shippies Meeting closed at 6:40pm.
