Minutes of the TUA Meeting, 4 September 2003 Shipwright Arms Public House, Battery Point Present: Jemery, Jeff, Joe, Shavawn, Madeleine Apologies: Dave C, Mike B. Minutes of the previous meeting confirmed: motioned Madeleine, seconded Shavawn, passed. Correspondence: Letter from HCC indicating: (1) a future deposit of $150 for key, Jeff moved that TUA pays deposit, seconded Shavawn, passed. (2) the grounds have to be inspected before each use and a form filled in and signed to say the grounds are in a fit state to be played on. Action: Jeff to find out how often this needs to be done. Survey from HCC for their recreation management plan. Jemery filled it in and sent it off. Business Arising: 1. Autumn League: Interim budget finalised and to be incorporated with Winter league (Indoor II). 2. Winter League: Much appreciation for Joe's recruitment drive. All money banked. Budget is almost finalised with only a few outstanding payments to be made. Spirit: not enough variation in the spirit scores. New guidelines are: 0 - not coming back 1-2 - very bad 3-4 - poor 5 - average 6-7 - good 8-9 - excellent 10 - best spirited game ever played by all of team Action: Jemery to write these up somewhere along with lists of things considered bad and good for consideration when giving spirit. Cheer: there was no cheer at indoor - acceptable given time constraints but we've got to do better than that for outdoor. Jemery moved to approve payment of: up to $100 to Jeff (with receipts) for prizes etc - Winter League $35 to Cari with Madeleine's note for organiser's discount and spirit prize(lost receipt) $240 to Hobart College with invoice (indoor court hire) 2x $20 to UTas Ultimate for prize discs $140 to AFDA for winter league and mixed Nats membeships Shavawn seconded, passed. 3. Spring League: Jeff to send fee structure to tua-admin for any comments before finalising. 4. Advertising: Logo was selected from Joe's offers. Joe has finished the poster - fantastic - and will bring copies to pick-up next week for distribution. 5. Coaching & Development: Action: Joe to chase up Mercury for advertising in Wotz on. Action: Jem to talk to Craig and arrange a meeting to organise the coaching nights before 6 Oct. 6. Financial Guidelines: Jeff brought copies of his reworking of Jemery's financial guidelines and people can make comments on tua-admin after reading. 7. Mixed Nationals: Shavawn has registered the team and is still waiting for some team deposits. 8. Two Hat: Jemery has 19 registrations, hopes for another 10 more at least and will order t-shirts next week. Disc golf: Action: Jemery to find out whether Ken can run the golf on Friday night. 9. Women's Development: No new developments. 10. Uni Report: UTas Ultimate received a letter from uni requesting $800 for field hire for pick-up games. This issue has been resolved without the need for payment as the club is entitled to a few hours a week of free field time. 11. Csiro/Uni Challenge: next challenge to be October 10 to fit in with the IDL club who will put on a BBQ. Joe to discuss terms, ie what happens if the BBQ makes a loss. 12.Tassie Disc: too expensive - boo hoo. 13. Nationals eligibility: in debate how next nationals comp will be organised. There is a push to have selected state teams. 14. TUC report. Could be a forfeit on Sunday if All Bounced Out doesn't come up with another player. Financial report: Shavawn to submit a summary to tua-admin. Next meeting: 13 Nov 2003
