Minutes July 3, 2003 Present: J1, J2, Shavawn, Mike Baker, Madeleine, Craig later. Apologies: Dave C, Cari, Mamoru Minutes from previous meeting were tabled and confirmed. 1. Correspondence: Madeleine tabled invoices from: Hobart College $300 for gym hire for Winter I Hobart City Council, $80 for field hire for Long Knights Tournament Payment of these invoices was approved. 2. Winter I Madeleine thought the league went well with good spirit but the number of people attending was low. Also noted that in being cautious we made too much money and would like to use some of the excess on winter II. Suggested Winter II fees: $30 early-bird $35 late. Motion seconded by Jemery and passed. 3. Spring League Jeff will be taking on Spring league in October. Jem wants someone to work on recruitment for spring. Shavawn to contact Mercury to put league results by Spring. Craig agreed to run beginners' skills sessions 20/9/03, 27/9/03, 4/10/03. Jeff to chase up "Come and Try" advertisement in Mercury (free) Craig will try recruiting from Taroona Soccer club at the end of the winter season. 4. Spirit Scores Jem will produce new Tasmanian guidelines - since Pottsy's guidelines were found to be too negative. 5. Mixed Nationals Oct 24-26, Melbourne Shavawn has 5 women so will start seeing if we have men who are interested in playing. 6. TUC Next game is July 13. 7. Long Knights Jeff made a $62 profit - again low attendance but good fun. 8. Govt Funding Jem is looking for someone to apply for funding. Craig & Jem might do it. 9. Women's Development We won't be doing anything just for women but in the recruitment drive, we should target women and make sure we have experienced women at the skills sessions. 10. Tas. Uni Report Shavawn will put an ad in the Bull for the skill's sessions and put up some posters a week or two before the sessions start. 11. Two-Hat Preparation Golf - will ask Ken to organise. Party - perhaps Frank will organise Lunch - Stan? Recent low attendances mean we will have to consider this in the planning. 12. Tassie Discs Mike to find out about cost and order forms. Craig and Jeff to check out designs. 13. Nationals Eligibility No decision has been made yet. 14. Financial Report Shavawn tabled financial report - in summary we have ~$231 in the bank. Jeff moved to accept, Craig seconded, passed. Jem has written financial guidelines for running TUA - Madeleine to make comments before next meeting. 15. Next meeting - August 7.
