New fields for Summer league? It now looks likely that both the 2005 Summer League and the January 10th Come and Try session will both be held at Cornelian Bay in 2005. This should provide enough space for 8 teams. In the meantime, don't forget to recruit some more players and register now. Register and pay by January 17 to avoid having to pay late fees - and to make life easier for league organisers Tim and Stew!

Huon High Flyers won the spirit prize (narrowly beating Ultima X11 and Bluey) in the 2004 Spring League and Bluey won the league, defeating Never Evergreen (6-4) in the grand final. Schwarzkopfs and Huon High Flyers were both knocked out in the semi-final, despite having the advantage of watching the first game, while Bluey and Evergreen were busy qualifying for the semis! Congratulations to Aaron Pinkus for winning the style in the final award, Pat Dunne for the Guts in the final award, Joe Boyer, Phil Exton and Mark Alexander who shared the best recruiter prize and Ashley Button and Kim Menadue who shared the best novice prize. Thanks to David Griffin and Jeff Dunn for cooking the BBQ, and for Asher Gentle, Tim Phillips and Jeff Dunn for their various roles as league organisers.

| December 12 |
After a tense tussle, the tenth round of the 2004 Tasmanian Ultimate Championships saw Relish winning this round after time cap, with the final score 12-11. Relish took the half 9-6, and just managed to hold off a hard finishing Eh Team. This resulted in a tied series with each team winning 5 games each. Controversially the series was declared drawn making The Eh Team and Hot'n'Spicy Relish joint Tasmanian Ultimate Champions in 2004 (everyone is a winner!). A more detailed game report will hopefully appear soon!
|
| December 9 |
Schwarzkopfs and Huon High Flyers finished first and second after the completion of the minor round and hence have the early bye in the Monday night Spring League finals. On Dec 13, they meet the winners of the games Never Evergreen vs Ultima XII and Bluey vs Running Gators, with winners of these games playing the grand final! Confused? Then come along on Monday night and find out what is happening! There will also be a meeting at the BBQ after league finals next Monday for those interested in playing for Tasmania at Regionals and Nationals next year.

| December 1 |

After a very long first point, the ninth round of the 2004 Tasmanian Ultimate Championships saw a somewhat hollow victory to the Eh Team, who took the first half 9-2 and then hung on to win game 14-4 at time cap. See Tim's report for more details. Somewhat controversially, this game has been ruled to have been won by Relish, given that the Eh Team only had 4 registered players on the line (and 3 pickups). This leaves the Eh Team leading the series 5 games to 4. The next round will be held on Sunday December 12th.

The Brown Barbaloots took out the all important Spirit prize at the 6th Tasmanian Two-Hat Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Felix Kennedy won the play of the day award with a spectacular layout catch for the last goal of the tournament. For the second year in succession, the Two-Hat gods conspired to create a stacked team (Little Johnny's Satanic Minions), which remained undefeated all day. Although Hangover Blues played well in the final, they conceded an early 5-0 lead to Little Johnny's Satanic Minions and could only claw their way back to 12-7 at time cap. Congratulations to the new entries in the 10 hat Hall of Fame: Sam Waugh, Craig Mundy, Jeff Dunn, Ken Suber and Stan Robert. Watch out for a full TD's report soon! |

Not sure which team she is playing for at Nationals this year, but good luck to Queen Elizabeth - she has 78 candles to blow out on her birthday cake today! Surely she'll be playing for ICE, probably somewhere in the middle.
|
| April 20 |
Good luck to the Tassie Tiggers,

The 2004 Tiggers team consists of the following players: Joe Boyer, Tom Caldwell, Craig Mundy, Ingrid Buchner, Asher Gentle, Mike Baker (captain), Felix Kennedy, Timothy Phillips, Stewart Wilde, Stefan Goecke, Kathrin Buchner and Dave Wilson. Joe, Tom and Craig have played with this team at the last 3 Nationals Championships - Asher and Ingrid return for their second Nationals with the Tiggers. Due to a potential conflict with the expected date for Two-Hat VII (held every year on the 2nd weekend in October, except when the Australian Worlds squad steals that weekend for a training camp), the AFDA and WFDF have been forced to reschedule the 2006 World Ultimate Clubs Championships, to be held in Perth, Australia (presumably that is Perth, Tasmania?) from the AFDA's preferred date of October 2006 to November 2006. Will the AFDA ever learn?
|
| March 25 |

| March 16 |
Squid Jiggers are the minor premiers in the Monday night Summer League. Check out the full league table, if you are interested. This means a 3rd vs 4th playoff between Queen Mary and White Heffalumps and a grand final between Squid Jiggers and Silver Piccolo on March 22. Don't forget to hang around for the BBQ, presentations and TUA AGM (guaranteed to be very short) at the end of the final.
|
| March 9 |
Squid Jiggers are maintaining a slim 1 point lead in the league table, despite a recent loss to second placed Silver Piccolo in the Monday night Summer League. The next round will determine the minor round positions, before the finals on March 22. Queen Mary have a theoretical chance of making the grand final, but the most likely scenario is a final between Squid Jiggers and Silver Piccolo.
