December

December 18 Sexy Jeff won the Spring League and Tequila Bats took out the spirit prize. Full details of all awards are now available at the League History page, including all results and award winners from previous leagues.
December 3 Registration is now open for the Summer League which kicks off on Monday nights from January 20, 2003. A new League History page is up listing results and award winners from all previous leagues. An early registration discount is available if you register on the web and pay your fees by January 13.
December 2 WOM won a close fought game in the 7th round of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships beating Wild Fling 9-8. This takes WOM to a 5-2 series lead and it they have certainly taken out the 2002 Tasmanian Ultimate Championships!

November

November 29 An almost complete official TD's Report for Two-Hat IV in now available on the Two-Hat page, complete with most of the photos - there are a couple more to be included as soon as they are available. If you look carefully, you may find a belated TD's report for Two-Hat I as well. Asher's Two-Hat photos are also available, alongside Ian's in an egroups photo album. Naomi's photos will get there one day!
November 27 Results of Round 5 of the Spring League have been updated.
November 20 Results of Round 4 of the Spring League have been updated, as have the team lists.
November 18 Minutes of the November 13 TUA meeting are now available, complete with appendices, including a tentative calendar of upcoming TUA events and a Two Hat IV financial statement.
November 13 Results of Round 3 of the Spring League have been updated.
November 6 Results of Round 2 of the Spring League have been updated.
November 5 The latest AFDA newsletter is out. Catch Jemery or your league captain if you want your copy or download a .pdf version from the AFDA web site.
November 3 WOM performed a bit of a demolition in the November round of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships beating Wild Fling 14-6. This takes WOM to a 4-2 series lead and it looks like they have taken out the 2002 Tasmanian Ultimate Championships!

October

October 31 The Spring League web page has been updated, with tentative schedule, team lists and first results.
October 30 The next round of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships is on this Sunday. Can Wild Fling level the scores?
October 25 Ian's Two-Hat IV photos are now in an egroups photo album.
October 22 The Spring League has started. Late registration is still available - talk to Jeff if you want more information.
October 21 The Uni Oval appears to be open for business again, but watch out for the patches of new grass. Tuesday and Thursday lunch time games have moved from the Rugby Field back to the Uni Oval. I guess the same applies for Sunday morning Nationals training sessions - although it isn't quite clear when the next training session will be. Is Oct 27 happening?
October 18 Following the latest TUA meeting, (check out the minutes if you want to know what happened) the rules for the upcoming Spring and Summer Leagues have been revised.
October 14 The 4th Tasmanian Two-Hat Tournament is over. Yellow Monsters won the tournament - beating Orange Organix in a wind affected final 5-4. Butch won the spirit prize and Brendan won the Play of the Day award. More details available soon!
October 14 Early registration discount for the Spring League closes today. Make sure you fill in the electronic registration form today if you want the discount. Late registration will still be available - but will cost $5 more.
October 7 Registration is now officially closed for the 4th Tasmanian Two-Hat Tournament. If you want to play anyway, fill in the electronic registration form now and talk to Jemery soon to see how much it will cost and whether there is room on a team for you! The venue for the post Two-Hat Halloween party is the Polish Club - start getting your costumes ready now. If you can't make it to the tourney, you can always just come to the party! The Two-Hat schedule is now available.
October 6 Round 5 of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships saw Team 2 finally come up with a name, WOM, and in a tightly contested game, saw them victorious over Wild Fling, winning 15-13 and taking the lead in the series, 3-2.
October 4 Round 5 of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships is on this weekend, Sunday October 6, game starting at 8:45. Will Team 2 manage to scrape a team together?
October 3 Registration is now open for the Spring League. The Spring League page has also been revamped, now including a history section for results from the 2001 season.
October 1 The Winter League has finished. Full results and minor round league table have been compiled. Congratulations to No Name Yet who defeated Algae in the final. Check out the finals report and league wrap up.

September

September 26 Registration is still open for the 4th Tasmanian Two-Hat Tournament. Remember, the registration fee goes up again on September 30, so if you want to play, fill in the electronic registration form now and get your money ($45 for non AFDA members) to Jemery by Monday September 30! The venue for the post Two-Hat Halloween party venue is now booked (the Polish Club) - so start getting your costumes ready now!
September 24 Week 10 results for the Winter League have been compiled. No Name Yet will be playing in the final (Mon September 30), and will meet either Algae or The Boffins, depending on the results of the next two matches.
September 19 The Uni Oval has been closed for maintenance until mid to late October. In the meantime, Tuesday and Thursday lunch time games will be played either at the Rugby Field or at Lower Queenborough. Try the Rugby Field first. I guess the same applies for Sunday morning Nationals training sessions.
September 18 Rumours persist that there will be a Halloween Party following the Two-Hat Tournament. While final details are yet to be confirmed, feel free to start thinking about your costume now!
September 17 Week 8 results have been amended (Algae's forfeits were not actually forfeits it seems) and Week 9 results included for the Winter League. The full league table can be found here.
September 16 The main AFDA web page has been updated and revised - check it out!!
September 10 Registration is still open for the 4th Tasmanian Two-Hat Tournament. Unless you have talked to Jemery, the early registration discount, is no longer available. September 10 Week 7 and 8 results for the Winter League have been compiled.
September 9 Wild Fling finally managed a legitimate victory in the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships, defeating Team 2 with a score of 15-8 in a somewhat tense game. If the round 3 forfeit holds up in the appeals court, this levels the series at 2-2.
September 6 Due to some key people being away, the September meeting of the TUA has been cancelled. The next meeting will be in October.

August

August 28 Week 6 results for the Winter League have been compiled.
August 27 Fortnightly Sunday morning training sessions for Nationals 2003 are about to start - mixed in with an occasional Tasmanian Ultimate Championships game. The first training session is from 8-10am on Sunday September 1 at the Uni Oval. Talk to Mamoru if you want more information.
August 20 Week 5 results for the Winter League have been compiled.

July 23 The first two rounds of the Winter League have been completed. Team lists and the first results are now available.
July 22 The early registration deadline for the Oooh Tournament has now passed. Due to some unexpected events, including ex-TD Joe contracting the measles, the Oooh has become the Aaah Tournament This is now a half day tournament and Jeff is the new TD. Registration is still open - but register soon (and/or talk to Jeff) if you want to play!
July 15 The early registration deadline for the Oooh Tournament is fast approaching. Register soon if you want discount registration (before July 20).
July 15 Team 2 won the second round of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships. Will they ever get a better name?
July 11 Discount registration for the Winter League has now closed. You can still register and play - but Mamoru may charge you the full rates now. Preliminary teams are now available.
July 9 The second round of the Tasmanian Ultimate Championships kicks off this Sunday, July 14.

July 1 Gingerbread People took out the final of the Autumn League, beating White Knights 9-8 in a very close game. Discography won the play off for 3rd place. White Knights won the spirit prize, Matt Foster the Cherry Ripe award, Kerryn the Violet Crumble award and Felix won the Tim Tam award. The final league table, including spirit points, is now available.

June 25 There will be a special mixed ultimate game on Sunday morning June 30, featuring special overseas guest appearances. Speak to Jemery if you want to play!
June 24 Gingerbread People lead the table after the minor rounds of Autumn League. The final (July 1) features a game between Gingerbread People and White Knights with Discography and Red Devils playing off for 3rd place.
June 21 CSIRO took out the latest CSIRO/Uni Challenge, 9-8 in a tightly contested game.
June 20 Winter indoor league registration has just opened. The season runs on Monday evenings from July 22 to September 30. Early registration discounts apply if you register before July 1! Talk to Mamoru for more information and look for more details on this web page soon!
June 17 Sunday morning games/training sessions have started up again - with the first round of the TUC already held. Talk to Ian if you are interested.
June 10 Another TUA meeting at Jemery's place is scheduled for Wednesday June 19 at 8:30pm. Come along if you want to have some input in running ultimate frisbee in Hobart!
June 10 The next CSIRO/Uni Challenge has been organised for Friday June 21. Talk to James if you want to play on the Uni team or Jeff/Leslie to play for CSIRO.

May 24 At last the CSIRO/Uni Challenge has come back to life. After a 13 month hiatus, and a wildly successful Nationals campaign, the Uni side finally issued a challenge and in a close fought game, closed out a resurgent CSIRO team, 9-7 at time cap.
May 20 Autumn League has started, on Monday nights under lights at the Uni Oval. Talk to Mamoru if you want to play! A full schedule, team lists and results are now available.
May 20 Another TasFDA meeting at Shavawn's place is on, Wednesday May 22. Come along if you want to have a say on a possible bid for Nationals in Hobart next year - or talk to Shavawn!
May 13 There is talk of a 7 or 8 week autumn league to be held outdoors under lights. Talk to Mamoru if you are interested in playing - but do it soon! Possible nights are Monday, Wednesday or Friday - but probably Monday... This league may start as soon as Monday May 20, possibly at the Uni Oval!
May 13 As announced by Ash at Nationals, the "Tassie women" won the main party at Nationals, the Op-Shop Ball on Saturday night! Why not the Tassie men?? May 6 A TasFDA meeting is to be held at Shavawn's place, Wednesday May 8. Come along if you want to have a say on a possible bid for Nationals in Hobart next year - or talk to Shavawn!
May 6 Nationals have been completed. Spirit winners were Choice Cuts (Tas) in the Open Division (average spirit score of 8.9/10) and Vacant Air (Vic-Tas) in the Womens Division (average spirit score of 9.7/10)!!! Choice Cuts finished 14th and Vacant Air 10th. Full results and spirit scores are located at the Nationals results web site.

April

April 29 Naomi broke her collarbone on Friday at Nationals - but at least she caught the goal in the process - one of two spectacular layout catches for a goal in that game! Hopefully her collarbone is starting to heal, the pain is reducing and Naomi will be back on the playing field before too long. Take it easy Naomi.
April 22 The Tasmanian Nationals teams leave for Melbourne this week. Choice Cuts are playing in the Open Division and Vacant Air (combined Tas/Vic team) will play in the Women's Division.

March

March 25 Semigoth have taken out the final of the Summer league, defeating Moulin Rouge 8-6 or thereabouts. Whitewash took out the spirit prize, Sarah won the Cherry Ripe award, Kerryn the Violet Crumble award and Lucy the Tim Tam award. Bluebottle won the 3rd vs 4th playoff.
March 18 Thanks to a run of forfeits by Semigoth, Moulin Rouge have taken out the minor round premiership for the Summer league. The Grand final between Moulin Rouge and Semigoth will be held on Monday March 25 at 6pm, followed by a BBQ and presentations - bring your friends! There will also be a play off for 3rd and 4th between Bluebottle and Whitewash. The final table (with final spirit scores hidden) is also available.
March 18 The Autumn Equinox Hat Tournament has just been held. Thanks to Mamoru for organising this tournament!
