May Volunteer of the Month

The Winner of the May AFDA Volunteer of the Month has been selected.

This month nominations have been received from Manly, Perth, and Adelaide.

The following hard working volunteers were nominated for their efforts:
Max Daube (Perth):
Max volunteers his time once a week to run sprint and fitness training for Perth Ultimate players. He has shown dedication to the sport by adapting the training to the needs of players of Ultimate. He promotes safety by running proper warm up and cool downs and keeps everyone motivated by making sure the sessions have multiple components. All sessions are open to the Perth Ultimate community.
Kerrie O'sullivan (Manly):
Kerrie has been the commissioner of Manly Ultimate League for the last two years and has shown dedication and commitment despite being injured over recent months. When Kerrie took over the management of the league in 2008 it was on the brink. The nature of the population of Manly and Sydney’s northern beaches, with many travelers and non-permanent residents, makes this league a challenge to organise.
Richard Appleby (Adelaide):
For volunteering to be the Tournament Direcotr for the 2010 Australian Ultimate Championships. Richard's efforts in motivating a team of volunteers to help out and the overall success came down to his contribution.
John Hempel (Melb) & Scott George (Newcastle):
On the ground, hands on volunteering at AUC 2010 - "Go to Whoa" behind the scenes but necessary to the tournament features. From timekeeping, first aid contacts, toilet paper replenishment to podcasting these guys had it covered!

This month’s winner is...

Congratulations Kerrie O'Sullivan!

While the 2009/10 season has now concluded and Kerrie has stood down from her position, she deserves recognition for her excellent work to develop Manly Ultimate League and introduce new players to the game over the past two years. She coordinated team registration, finance, field bookings, lighting disasters and much more, and still managed to have a smile at the end of the night at Manly Fishos, our local pub!

Congratulations Kerrie
A $50 Rebel Sport voucher will be heading your way.
Thank you to all who nominated.
I look forward to more nominations next month. Nominations are now open!
