2009 Official Crocs supporter disc design
World Games is now the most elite tournament in World Ultimate. 78 players, 6 countries, 3 days of play and 6 games for each team. The best players from the strongest ultimate nations in the world will meet in Taiwan in July 2009 to determine the Gold Medal and the title of World Games Champion. In 2005, Australia won the silver medal and turned the establishment upside down, as the world was expecting a Canada / USA final.

Now you can show your support for the 2009 Australian World Games team (the Crocs), buy a piece of history and help with fundraising for the team by purchasing one of only 200 official limited edition supporters discs. The discs will only be available from World Games squad members and will cost $25. All proceeds go to funding the team and their preparation for World Games. The discs will get out to all major cities and be available from February 2nd 2009.

2009 is the second year that Australia has qualified to send a team to World Games. Every four years 6 nations are invited by the World Flying Disc Federation and the International World Games Association to send a team of 13 players. Qualification is through attendance and success in competition at the World Ultimate Championships held in the prior year. In 2008 the Australian teams competing in Vancouver won Australia one of the 6 team bids to World Games.

Five of the six bids are determined by considering the results in the Open, Womens and Mixed divisions at worlds. Australia finished 4th in the Women's and Mixed divisions and 5th in the Open division. This earned Australia enough World Cup points to finish as one of the top 5 ultimate nations in the world. The other qualifying teams are; USA, Canada, Japan and UK. The sixth bid is offered to the host nation, provided that they have a team presence at the World Ultimate Championships. In 2009, Taiwan will be the sixth team at World Games.

Preparations are well underway for the 2009 Australian team for World Games in Taiwan with the selection camp being held in Sydney on January 31 - February 1 2009.
