Love frisbee? Want to teach people to be better frisbee players?
Want to help your team win a championship? Want to earn money
coaching frisbee?
Working with the Australian Sports Commission, the AFDA has
developed a nationally accredited coach training course. If you
complete the course, then you will be recognised by schools,
universities and government nationwide as an Ultimate Frisbee
coach.
The Updated course has been simplified as a 1 day course and includes:
- Coaching specific textbook: "AFDA Coaching Manual"
- Exams, assessments, logbooks and workbooks
- ONE day of training in classroom and on the field
- Registration with the Australian Sports Commission as a
registered Ultimate Frisbee Coach
This course requires attendees to complete the ASC online Beginning Coaching General Principles ausport.gov.au/participating/coaches/education/onlinecoach Beginning Coaching General Principles and AFDA Rules Quiz. If you already have some coaching qualifications then you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning and may find that some sessions
in the course are optional for you.
To be part of the course you need to register online. Ask your State Coaching Co-ordinator for course details.
The AFDA Fees are $110 (inc GST) license fee + $27.50 (inc GST) per person.
Initiatives
The AFDA has appointed a National Coaching Co-ordinator and
created a National Coaching Committee (NCC). The NCC is chaired by
the National Coaching Co-ordinator and has a representative from
each state. The representatives are appointed by their state
associations. The current members of the NCC are listed on the
coaching contacts page. The roles and responsibilities of the NCC
and Committee members are listed in the 4 year coaching development
plan.
